Nokia 6790 Mako

Nokia 6790 , codenamed Mako, comes to the market with a sliding QWERTY keypad and with 3G capabilities, and it seems that it will be heading towards AT&T’s lineup in a slightly different design than what anyone would expect from a Nokia mobile phone. Even so, there are a lot of features that remind us of any other handset coming from the manufacturer.

Interestingly enough, it seems that the new Nokia Mako will not come to the market as a high-end device, as one would expect, given its looks, but, BGR says, it rather fits in line with mobile phones like the Samsung Propel, LG Xenon and Pantec Matrix.

Although the firmware of the handset seems to not be in its final state yet, and the same applies to the design, as it was not a retail unit, the first impressions on the Nokia 6790 Mako place the device at the lower end of the line, which doesn’t sound too great after all. One thing that seems to be a bit of a problem is the handset’s QWERTY keypad, which is not as appealing as one would have expected it to be.
Even so, the phone still has some goodies to offer, including the 2.4-inch display that should deliver a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, as well as support for 16 million colors , along with HSDPA, EDGE, multi-tasking capabilities, A-GPS and dedicated GPS key, multimedia player, Bluetooth 2.0, and memory card slot for additional storage space. The entire series of hands-on photos with the handset is available here.
